Same-Day Crowns in South Jordan

Imagine cracking a tooth on a Friday afternoon and walking out of your dentist’s office the same day with a finished, permanent crown. No temporary crown falling off over the weekend. No second appointment two weeks later. No gummy impressions. That’s exactly what same-day crowns make possible.

At Copper Creek Dental, we use CEREC technology to design and mill ceramic crowns entirely in-house, so you can get a permanent crown in a single visit.

A Permanent Crown in One Visit? How Does It Work?

Here’s what happens when you get a CEREC crown:

  • First, we numb the affected area and prepare the damaged tooth by removing any decayed or weakened material.
  • Next, we use a digital scanner to capture precise, 3D images of your tooth from all angles.
  • The CAD/CAM software designs your custom crown on-screen using those digital measurements.
  • Our in-office milling machine carves the crown from a solid block of ceramic material while you wait.
  • As soon as it’s ready, the finished crown is fitted, adjusted if needed, and permanently cemented in place.

Before you come in for your appointment, it helps to know what to expect:

  • The digital scan takes only a few minutes, but you’ll be in the chair for over an hour. The process typically takes around 90 to 120 minutes from start to finish.
  • We’ll use local anesthesia, so the process is not painful at all.
  • You can eat normally again as soon as the anesthesia wears off; there’s no need to wait for a temporary crown to set.

Advantages of CEREC Crowns

Beyond the obvious time savings, there are real, tangible reasons patients prefer this approach. The benefits of same-day crowns go well beyond just convenience:

  • Precise fit: Digital scans are more accurate than physical impressions, so CEREC crowns fit better and need fewer adjustments
  • Natural appearance: CEREC crowns are made from ceramic zirconia and color-matched to blend in with the surrounding teeth
  • Durability: CEREC crowns are just as strong as lab-milled crowns. They’re abrasion-resistant, and can last a decade or more with proper care.

Crowns are actually one of the most common restorative dental procedures. When a tooth has significant decay, severe cracks or chips, or a broken filling, a crown can protect it from further damage. We also place crowns after root canal procedures and over dental implants. If you also need a crown placed over an implant, we offer custom implant crowns designed to look and function just like your natural teeth.

Same-day crowns are convenient, comfortable, and built to last. If you have a damaged tooth or have been told you need a crown, there’s no reason to go through two separate appointments when only one will do.
