Dental Crowns in South Jordan, Utah
A severely weakened tooth may need a dental crown to restore its function and prevent further damage. CEREC crowns are the industry-leading crown, restoring the tooth’s strength and matching the color of your other teeth to give you a strong, natural-looking smile.
At Copper Creek Dental, our state-of-the-art technology allows us to provide CEREC crowns in a single appointment for patients in the South Jordan area.

What Are CEREC Crowns?
CEREC crowns are made using computer-aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM) to create a custom restoration. We fabricate porcelain and zirconia CEREC crowns in our in-house dental laboratory so we can place the restoration the same day your tooth is prepared to receive it.
CEREC Crown Procedure
At Copper Creek Dental, the entire CEREC crown procedure is completed in a single visit. First, we prepare the damaged tooth by removing the decayed portion, then reshape the tooth to make room for the crown.
Next, we scan the damaged tooth to take a digital impression that ensures the crown will fit properly. Then we send the 3D images to our computer, which designs the new restoration.
The crown is milled right here in our office while you wait momentarily. Once it’s ready, we may make a few final adjustments, then we cement the crown in place.
Benefits of CEREC Crowns
Fast
When you get a traditional crown, you first have your tooth prepped and a temporary crown placed. You would also need to take a physical impression of your tooth, which requires sitting around with uncomfortable and bad-tasting mold material in your mouth. Then several weeks later, you go to another appointment to have the temporary crown removed and the permanent crown placed.
With CEREC crowns, every step of the procedure is completed on the same day, and there’s no need for temporary crowns or physical impressions. The whole process should take around 90 to 120 minutes.
Affordable
The cost of placing a temporary crown and a permanent crown in multiple dental visits quickly adds up. Because CEREC crowns require just one appointment and placing a single crown, they’re a much more affordable option than traditional crowns.
Durable
A CEREC dental crown can last many years with proper care. Although the restoration itself won’t decay, the tooth underneath is still vulnerable to bacteria so it’s important to maintain good oral hygiene.
Natural-Looking
CEREC crowns look and feel natural. They are shaped and colored to fit seamlessly with your smile. They also restore your tooth’s natural strength, so you can bite and chew normally. Best of all, they are designed with your specific customizations in mind.
